I was hit by a van 14 months ago. I have made an amazing recovery without much follow up at all from neurology. Yesterday, I had a neurologist assessment for my insurance claim. All was good but now I’m feeling anxious. He asked me if I had woken up having bitten my tongue. I said no but I keep thinking about the fact that I did have a mystery bitten tongue and have been waking up in the night for no reason which is unusual for me. However, I have not had incontinence which he said was a big sign. Does anyone have nighttime seizures without incontinence? If I do try to get back in touch with neurology can they do anything? I sleep alone and am about to finally move into my own house and now I’m worried that it might be unsafe.

Hi. I know it's easier said than done, but try to not over think the assessment. As you say, the assessment was part of the insurance process, they will ask many questions, many that are probably not applicable to you, but they have to ask. If this has has created questions for you, then maybe have a chat with your GP. Best wishes 🍀
There are many meds to prevent siezures. I had a brain injury and a seizure, after two years. I now take Lacosamide (a generic for Vimpat) to prevent any more. FYI. The Neurologist also had me do a test with a thing. like a cap, around my head to see what was going on in my brain. FYI again. Hope that helps.
hi there, I find that I do not always provide the correct info or the full account when I am on the spot having been asked a question. It is afterwards that I realise this - it can be days later. I think this happens because my brain falls on an answer that seems fine and it is usally part of the correct answer therefore I do not have concerns about my response, but I can also unknowingly give a wrong answer. Also my fatigue levels affect how much depth i can think and therefore this affects my response. This is more litkely to happen if there are a succession of questions like in your example.
If i thought it was important, I would return to the person in an email and inform them of the question and answer and explain that when put on the spot you did not have the time to think this through.
Thanks for this. I have contacted my solicitor and case worker and told them that about the worries. I apologised but explained that I hadn’t really put things together until then and was then in denial that there could be a problem. I’m finding that part of the claim tricky as I spend so much time trying to make it clear that I’m getting on ok and then in terms of the claim I need to point out all the difficulties.
