Hi folks,

My last drawing I posted of the cat, Casper, he is for a friend of mine… well, I don’t know if she is still a friend or what actually.

This friend is vegan and she runs her own vegan eatery/café.

I USED to follow the vegan diet. I don’t anymore though and for a very good reason.

Around 2016 is where I got to learn more about veganism and I thought that it sounded pretty amazing so I was eating more fruits and veg over meat in hope to better my health.

I never went fully vegan but more flexitarian or ‘rubbish vegan’ as I called it :). And I did this because I thought it was going to better my health… it doesn’t

Late last year was when I ditched that diet.

In my opinion, the vegan diet is dangerous. My health slowly degraded.

Over the first few years my mum was pointing out minor health issues I had and she would laugh and say things like “So much for this vegan diet being healthy then”. I would just shrug it off and carry on with the diet.

My mum has done a lot of research over time on the vegan diet and the keto diet and also the carnivore diet.

A keto diet is better for you than vegan but a carnivore diet is even better.

Both keto and carnivore diets require high in fat and low in carbs.

Sugar, is the biggest problem when it comes to a diet and sugar comes under many names/forms.

every time a person eats they spike insulin (sugar). Carbs, once ingested turn into glucose (sugar).

You got refined sugars, unrefined sugars, man-made sugars as well as sweeteners which are all bad for you.

My auntie eats 3 meals a day (usually) and might snack in between. She eats a lot of breads ehich she thinks is probably healthy but it isn’t.

She is borderline diabetic now.

Breads, rice, potatoes, dates. These are very high in carbs which means you will get a very high dose of sugar too.

I know people are told to eat 3 times a day but that doesn’t mean you have to.

As I say, the more you eat, the more insulin you spike.

I fast. I mostly have 1 big meal a day. I’m not as thin as a stick cos I haven’t been on this diet for a long time.

If you think back to families years and years ago, 1 meal a day was the norm.

The man of the house spent most of the day hunting while the lady harvested the fruits and veg and helped prepare the meal.

Like I say, the vegan diet is no good at all. If you’re thinking of going vegan, then don’t unless you want to ruin your health.

I can’t believe I was actually interested in the vegan diet.

The vegan diet is low in fat and that is very very dangerous.

People need fat to function.

Apparently 70%-80% of what you eat per day should be fat.

But anyway, back to my friend.

When I last saw her I was speaking to her about diets cos at the the time my mum was following the keto diet.

This vegan friend didn’t agree with the keto diet.

She is also a certified dietician and doesn’t agree with high fats and low carbs.

But just cos she is a certified dietician doesn’t mean I have to listen to what she has to say.

I went on a vegan diet and it didn’t work so I gave it up, end of.

I have contacted her online about the completion of her cat drawing and I did tell her that I am no longer following the vegan diet and all she did was ‘like’ the comment ut I haven’t properly heard from her since.

Whether she has got the hump because she aoean’t like the fact I have jumped ship or whether she is too busy to contact me, I really don’t know.

So if I don’t get to sell this drawing of the cat, it’s no skin off my nose.

It’s another drawing to add to my portfolio is how I see it :).
