We are actually right on the border! Our home/village is in Lincolnshire, but the border with Nottinghamshire is about 50 yards from the end of our garden. The villages on either side are in Nottinghamshire as our village sits in an odd phallic arc in the border. No idea why

We often regale the village youngsters with the tales of yore. Old Uncle Jasper who drank nothing but Scrumpy and lived on a diet of cornflakes and dust. Cousin Ptarmigan who made his fortune from handcrafting flannels and coats for hamsters. And Great great Grandma Geoff, say no more. The list truly does go on...

I'm not sure people are ready to hear about some of the family.

The world isn't quite ready for Aunt Jasmine who invented earplugs, but suffered from a fearsome allergic reaction when exposed to Leather wallets. She was feared for her astonishing bad temper that often got her into dreadful trouble, once having an argument with a pigeon that lasted hours. There were no winners
