And only £60 shy of the £1000 barrier. I'm strapping on my boots as I type...

Wish me luck!

It was a cracking day, over 30 patients, carers and nurses turned out. Only three completed the 26 miles, myself, Sharon and a young, fit physio, but most managed 8-9 miles. Even an assistance dog trotted along for a couple of miles :)

Fantastic impressive achievement Baron for any average desk bound Joe but for someone with a BI it must be celebrated in its own category of 'look what you can do if you have the right support and focus'. Your body although tired must be getting waves of jubilation which will most certainly bring about a whole body healing experience. Inspirational share Baron. Brushing off my boots now...

Best wishes.

I think the waves of jubilation will be along once I can actually feel my feet! 😁

Thanks, E! And we passed £1000 during the walk, I think it's currently £1100 and rising...

Thanks my dear, much appreciated. It was bittersweet though. This year's walk has made me see certain factors with fresh eyes. Although my local walk will continue and so will others (hopefully) From now on I will be focussing solely on raising awareness and money for my local rehab unit.

Headway UK refused to promote the walk (aside from retweeting tweets and sharing the odd Facebook post) in any way. By the way, no tweets were retweeted. Promises made to myself AND my wife last year at The Dorchester we're totally ignored or forgotten. Apparently helping me would be unfair to other events happening. Fair enough, but then share any awards in that case and certainly don't make promises you have no intention of keeping or possibly couldn't deliver to people who are desperate to help.

I'm sorry if I sound bitter, but frankly, I don't care.
