Hi Julie, my mum had a brain haemorrhage 1 week ago and is also in queens.
I hope you mum continues to make progress.
Julie,
This will have been a shocking and stressful event for you but please don't despair as coming back from any brain injury can involve weeks, or maybe months, of very slow progress...…...much of which isn't noticeable or visible to onlookers.
The internal healing is complex and intricate and can't be hurried, but the fact your mum has survived and progressed this far shows great promise.
Try to commit to a long wait knowing that her brain is alternating between recuperating and searching for pathways around the damaged area.
The bleed itself will have destroyed cells but the brain has remarkable powers of rewiring and reconnecting with reality. Keep talking to her and maintaining physical contact ; your voice and touch will reassure her and help her find her way back to you.
Please keep us updated when you can m'dear. Sending all best wishes for your mum's continuing progress. Cat x
Julie Hi, Like your Mum I as given up on, but by OT's, I suffered with hydrocephalus and the water on brain was stopping me doing things and I slept a lot couldn't keep track of where I was or who had died in my Family. While in my own little world I saw my Mum but she wouldn't talk to me and swam away from me. Weird huh !! After shunt was fitted I awoke to sing to the nurse, kept as happy as I could and although walking is limited through backache I am back to the old Win. Rows with Daughter and hubby have returned. So as I say I am back!! So pleased to get a 2nd chance. Forgot Dad had died in 1999 and short term memory is getting better but still forgetful. But I'd rather be with My Daughter and Hubs any day I also got a chance to tell them how much they mean to me. XX Happiness and laughter is answer to all my ills xxxx
Hi Julie. Im no expert but my partner recently had 3 ruptured aneurysms and was living with bleeding on the brain for two weeks before anyone took any notice. He had a large bleed and is recovering from a triple coiling op at home now. He said he fought death! He did it for us (his family) so don't give up. Keep telling her you love her, get family members to tell her also. She can fight back. I do hope that she is ok. Please stay positive, its so so scary and worrying for you, look after yourself, your going to need strength. Ask family members for help, they will want to help you. Hugs.
