I recently had a blood test and now have shooting/tingling pains down my arm and hand particularly around the wrist/thumb area. I'm not able to stretch my hand completely upwards, backwards and not able to hold even a filled bottle in my hand. i had a medical advice, doctor suggested pain killer oil and neurosin, neurosin sr tablets, but still no improvements. Please let me know any permanent solutions so that my hand should be back to normal?

Hand Pain
Acupuncture can help with this, I’ve had nerve pains in both arms since my BI, painkillers absolutely no use but acupuncture does, in my case it’s not a permanent solution but often can be.

You've just had a blood test, presumably a syringe inserted, I'm wondering if some damage was done.
When I was in the hospital blood tests everyday and one nurse managed to damage a tendon, I had pain, tingling and weakness for weeks, just a thought.
If the pain is shooting down from your shoulder and upper arm to your hand and wrist it is unlikely to be due to the blood test. In which case you should seek medical advise because the symptoms could also be indicative of a stroke.
Hihari, I had nerve damage after a catheter was hastily inserted for heart meds causing nerve damage. It ached & tingled down my arm to wrist & thumb for around 3 months.
Nerve injury can be a very invasive pain and can be slow to settle down. I can't take Ibuprofen, but for those who can it's very effective for nerve pain. Hope it heals soon. Cat x
what can i say thats got many aspects
Have you ever thought this tingling, numbness etc..may be a result of a problem in your neck. I have been diagnosed with severe arthritis in my neck, and suffer similar symptoms. I also suffer nerve pain down my right arm into my hand, and have been prescribed Gabapentin.
