Hello. I just tried to turn off the annoying Chinese that my headway, health unlocked has now become infiltrated by and I saw there's an option for them to share information with others, or not!

The data isnt even truely anonymised imo. It just doesnt include people's real names. You can quickly establish identities in many cases.

I came across this thing about data sharing for the first time last week and Ive been on HU for some time.

If HU are going to share (and presumably sell) personal data then it needs to make clear that it is doing that and so gives people the clear choice to not be included. Not hide it away. Otherwise, I suspect that it might be in breach of the Data Protection Act. It is certainly acting unethically, as will be any academics who get this data from HU.
