Four days in to my course and I have hit a wall. I took nothing in this morning so decided to call it a day and go back to bed at my digs. I knew this would be difficult but learning g at a rapid pace all day has beaten me π©Try again tomorrow! Three more days to go!
Failed today π©: Four days in to my course and I... - Headway
Failed today π©
Tomorrow is another day! Hope you are back to normal in the morning.
Thanks! Just woke up. Onwards and upwards!!
shaunmcg fatigue affects us all in different ways. you say four days, is that whole days? if so no wonder youre fatigued.
if you work in the morning your take thing easy in the afternoon, evening and you should take tthe following morning off, to stop you from becoming fatigued.
hope that helps
steve
Thanks Steve. I paid a lot of money to be on this course so want to be there as much as i can. It's important for my recovery and personal development. I usually do nap a few times in the day but have been unable to do that on the course. APart from 20 minutes hiding under a stairwell for a nap!!!
Shaun - have you thought of mentioning the issue to the course people? They might be able to accommodate your need for rest times - e.g. by giving you a nod when at the end of the session they are going to do a recap, meaning you could sneak out 10 mins early and have a chance to extend your stairwell nap!
Also ask if there is a quiet space where you can take your lunch. I have to do this at college some days (I do one Saturday every other week but if I have been up to anything else in the week I can be zoning out after the first tutorial...) So I am quite antisocial at lunch and coffee and go somewhere where there is no noise or distraction and just breathe deeply for a while before attempting to concentrate again.
People are usually glad to help I find.
Good luck with it!
PS it is not a failure - it is fantastic that you are learning.
We call it 'Burnout' Shaun, not failure. I'd give you 10/10 for getting this far ; hope it's a more manageable day tomorrow ! xx
thanks Cat. This week has made me very aware of my shortcomings with learning. It's been tough and a few emotional moments when I just can't take anything in. So frustrating!!! Thank you all for your support xx
How did it go today Shaun ?
Managed to stay until 3pm so better! Exhausting!! X
I'm pretty sure I would have folded in that situation (actually, I KNOW I would). Just because your performance didn't meet your expectations please don't be disappointed. I simply wouldn't have had the bottle to go for it in the first place !
Give yourself a mighty pat on the back, and loads of well earned rest. xx
They arranged a private session with Dr Bandler for me and I feel great!! X and it WILL last xx
It's amazing how achieving a goal can boost your sense of wellbeing to the point where your whole body feels revitalised. Hang on to that feeling Shaun, even if the fatigue hits for a while, because you now know what you're capable of...............and you can build on it.
Have a great weekend. xx
Doing something every day is tough. I went away with a friend at the beginning of may and rode my horse every day for 6 days. I normally ride 2/3 times a week. I was so worn out by the end of it and am still struggling now. I just about still think it was worth it though.
You're doing brilliantly.
