Hi Raeka
I've been suffering from post concussion for 4 months now , I've made great progress and now back at work full time, I still need to take it easy, rest at the weekends and early nights ! I still get some of the symptoms if I've done too much.. it's a long road but having the support from this group has been a great help ..
All the best

Hi Raeka
I fell back and hit the back of my head in March, 3 days later I felt unwell and went to the doctors where I collapsed, they sent me for a CT scan which was clear but I couldn't do anything for 2 weeks, I was dizzy, headaches, anxiety and felt really unwell, I did try and go back to work but had a further 6 weeks off then I tried to go back and pushed myself too much and collapsed at work, they thought I had suffered a mini stroke but MRI was clear, I did end up with double vision in my right eye and now have to wear prisms, I had another 5 weeks off to recover as my coordination was really bad and I felt I had gone backwards with my recovery, my neurologist said my brain was stressed and prescribed me Duloxetine 60mg which have really helped with my headaches and stress.
I'm still not 100% back to my old self but feeling a lot better, dizziness has gone and the anxiety, I still suffer from tinnitus and get very tired.
The best thing to do is rest, drink loads of water, go for long walks, and eat healthy.
I think everyone is different but it took nearly 7 months for me to start feeling anywhere like normal and to be able to go out again with friends.
Hope this helps and wishing you well
Louise x
Welcome Raeka ! x
Hi Raeka,
It is indeed a huge relief to discover this place that is supportive and friendly.
Good to hear that you are ok.

Hello!
I also have what I and others (except, strangely, my doctor) think is post concussion with post-viral fatigue following a minor bump on the head and whiplash at Easter and subsequent almighty flu virus 3 weeks later.
I will admit that I was wary / unsure of contacting Headway and using this forum because I thought my head injury was "too minor". I have since come to understand through the help of these lovely people that I am so wrong. No matter how minor, or otherwise, you think a head injury is, it can still have a massive impact on life as you thought you knew it.
As others have said - welcome, grab a chair and a mug of your choice of drink and join us.
If it is of interest, I recently stumbled across this little website:
It has, among other things, quite an extensive list of post concussion syndrome symptoms.
I was worried recently about having random spells of being totally conscious and aware of my surroundings but feeling totally spaced out. Every other piece of information I've read on post concussion doesn't mention this in any way, but this one does.
It also seems to list sensible suggestions for self-managing problems you get.
All the best with the recovery.
Found this too a few weeks ago- really useful for friends and family as well👍
Hi and welcome to yourself and all the new members
One of the sayings amongst the head injury community is that "once you have seen a head injury, you have only seen A head injury" in that all of us a different and our symptoms whilst may overlap can affect us in different ways.
So don't get disheartened if something that is suggested on here doesn't work for yourself, it is just the way it is and sometimes is a little way forward and a long way back.
Welcome to the group Raeka! Fiona x
