I'll ask my doctor at some point, but until then (and to delay writing coursework :p) have you guys given blood since your incident? For me I'm more concerned about the fact I have epilepsy meds in mine.
Giving blood: I'll ask my doctor at some point, but... - Headway
Giving blood
If you look on blood.co.uk you can look up any health conditions and tablets that you take that may exclude you from giving blood. I am thinking you have epilepsy because you have mentioned taking anticonvulsants. Sadly the epilepsy excludes you because of the risk of the procedure triggering a fit.
Because of the tumour I hadn't thought about bloods but asking the doctor about my organ doner registration he said they probably wouldn't use any of the organs except the eyes, why the eyes would be OK if the rest is not I don't know but just happy someone may benefit from some part of me is enough.
Tried to go back to bliod donation. Unfortunately due to being on meds for epilepsy I cannot. This is because giving blood would alter the level.of meds in my blood and could cause an epileptic episode.
I was told this by the doctor at the blood donors.

I tried loads of times but I was anaemic every time. There biggest thing is did you have surgery and did you have surgery and they do check your meds to see if they are compatible. There are some conditions that exclude you from giving blood.
I did see healthunlocked.com/headway/...
sadly need to be 3 years free from both seizures and medication, to be able to give blood.
I used to give blood before my accident, but now they won't take my blood, and say that I can never give blood again!
I'm not aloud as I have previously received blood products kinda disappointed 😫
I went to give blood at work when the donation service came round. When they took my history I was refused on medical terms.
Hmm - yeah the same as most others have said. Not allowed to give blood.
Actually they phoned Me the other day to see why I have not been recently and to ask if I would donate platelets ( my blood group is fairly rare and I know they need it) . I explained and they were quite sure I would not be able to donate in the future either ..... but they did write me a nice letter of thanks for the past and hoped my condition improved for myself for the future.

Aw too bad, I'll ask at sometime but as Roger says, looks like I'll be trying in 3 years!
Thanks for the advice!
