Anxious moment!

Hiya all.

So I’ve been waiting on a phone call to arrange some repairs at home BUT the maintenance guys knocked on this mornin and my anxiety hit the roof and I had to rearrange the appointment for another day, the guys were ok with this and rearranging wasn’t a problem.

Just wanted to know how anybody else who deals/lives with anxiety would of dealt with the situation.

I feel pretty bad for turning them away as they were unloading their van but hey-ho l just can’t help it.

Perfectly reasonable. I have to prepare myself for any kind of encounter which is why i often eont answer the phone or door for that matter.

Absolutely Wazza ! In my previous life everyone was welcome in my home but, since the BI and becoming less spontaneous and more reclusive ........... not to mention paranoid about Covid, I have to be well prepared for encounters with strangers or for anything out of the ordinary.

Good to hear your workmen were understanding but hope you're forewarned with a phone-call next time. 🙄 x

They’ve rearranged for the 16th of this month thankfully and I’ll be expecting them so I’ll be ready & prepared.

Yes, a pity he didn't just think on. But I imagine he won't want to make that same mistake again. x

Totally get what your saying. Before my injury nothing would phase me, I was cool and relaxed about things. Since though, what a difference, I worry about everything, overthink any problems that in my mind are going to happen. Life has changed so much, from dismissing any problems as trivial I now make mountains out of molehills. I know I am over reacting on times but just cannot help it. So I tend to not get involved in things and lock myself away from everything, as then there is no worry, so in that respect lockdown has been good for me. It may be just something you will learn to live with, but I am sure there are so many other new problems going on aswell that it seems worse. I'm still struggling with my injury at nearly 2 years, but I am sure lots will tell you that is not long, as many on here will give you wonderful helpful answers that ease your concerns. Hope things improve.

I was exactly the same before my brain bleed but these day I get anxious over a phone call, it’s been 8 years since my AVM burst and I seem to get more anxious these days, I’m ok with people calling as long as I get notice, but turning up unexpectedly really sent my anxiety through the roof.

So true, it's awful to read how we now react to situations, but also reassuring to know were not alone.
