Never going back!!!!
Old Dimensions: Never going back!!!! - Headway
Old Dimensions
Forward, ever forward. I divide my life into 2 halves now, the pre and post ABI me and, thanks to amnesia, I have forgotten the first one. Hope we can all stride confidently forward into the light and a happy, healthy future x
Loving that, I feel my BI pressed the reset button so I could restart my second chance and I'm going to bloody enjoy it!!
Yes. I feel blessed. To carry on your analogy, someone has wiped my disk/ hard drive and I have had to reboot. Lovely blank fresh start to fill with what we want. How many folk get that chance? Handy, too when you can conveniently forget things (do I owe you money???)
Lol very true, no you can keep the change!!
I came home from work on the Friday, a caterpillar with the WORST headache ever, spent a week and a half out-of-it, in a crisis-chrysalis, and emerged as a very confused butterfly, not knowing how the damp wings unfurled, or worked.
I flew into a fair few windows, but nobody caught me in a net, and damaged my scales. I'm getting the hang of being 'different' now.
Great metaphor Gaia ! x
Thanks, Cat- that's how it seemed to me, one minute I was munching away on leaves, as I had done for the past thirty-odd years, then there was a vague bit that I don't really remember, then, BOOM! Everything's different.
I know I've battered my 'wings' a bit, flying into windows, in the scary post-op period, but now, I'm stretching out in the sunlight, and preparing to be resplendent, even if I am a bit more fragile than I was before.
A butterfly with hay-fever.
My friends dog was allergic to grass!
He used to go mad and say it was like having a (swear swear swear) fish allergic to water. Made I laaaaaaaffff
Hehe, I'm allergic to those bloody pink cherry trees that every local council must have ordered in bulk, and oilseed rape, my hay-fever season runs from March to August. Hay-fever is a RIGHT laugh when you've just had brain surgery.
The husband's worse, he's allergic to every insect bite and sting EVER, and decided, in his infinite wisdom, to set up bee-hives on the allotment.
