Old injury, worsening symptoms

I suffered a series of concussions/TBI when I was 13 and then another TBI when I was 18 from sports. I am now 26 and find myself struggling with severely worsening symptoms. Chronic headaches, cluster headaches, neck and back pain, memory and mood issues and severe hand tremors. I don't have a UK family doctor and am struggling to find medical support but I can feel my mind slipping away. I find that it is very difficult to get treatment if it isn't a new injury. Any recommendations?

Give the Headway helpline a call on 0808 800 2244. They are a great source of information and advice.

Best wishes. 🙂🌸

Dear aesthet,

Before I can make any recommendations, I must ask, are you a British National- resident, or not? If you are NOT a UK native, are you European? If so, since 'everything' Europe Wise, is in Flux, I would contact, your 'Own' Embassy. That is Probably 'Good Advice', in any event.

If you are a 'Non Residential' British Citizen, then contact the Home Office, for advice. Incidentally, if this IS the case, can/will you 'Post' the Recommendations here- so others can see them- please?

In any event, Good Luck, aesthet.

Thanks AndrewT, I am an Irish citizen and UK resident. Technically I have access to the NHS and have one of those online GP's but never the same person

Dear aesthet,

I Believe that, as an Irish National, you CAN apply for a General Practitioner (GP)- even in Britain (as opposed to the United Kingdom)…. I think?

Whatever, the actual 'Rules' are, they are Different for Irish Nationals, like yourself. I know that our 'Leaving the EU' has, potentially at least, put the whole 'Cross Border Co-Operation Thing' into doubt. However unless I am, Very much, mistaken (and I don't think that I am) there IS still a Desire/ Willingness to Co-Operate on these matters.

Metaphorically speaking.... Just because we want, to leave the Football Team, it Doesn't necessarily follow that we want to leave the City....Heck we ALL use the same Shopping Mall! Do you understand what I mean here?

Maybe 'Others' who have had more experience, of these Matters, can perhaps Comment further, than I can (Please?).

I'm SURE that there IS a 'way forward', for you, aesthet
