I'm surrounded by boxes, half of my furniture has already gone, the cat is not happy and I'm exhausted already. I move in with the baroness-in waiting on Friday but 'preparations' are in full swing...
I hope family life will be worth the week of sleep I already require...

Good luck and I hope you will be very happy. My hubby copes in the house with me and our many visitors, he just has his own spaces within the house to go to when he needs them. We just let him go with no need for explanation. Same goes for the cat, when she finds her little space to escape to she will be fine.
Wishing you all the best with your move to your new home, may it be filled with good luck, good fortune and good health for you and yours
I am sure you don't really need any advice regarding your move, but may I just say (as I told J when he moved in with his other half, last month) - pace yourself and remember once you have all your stuff in your new home it doesn't all have to be sorted out immediately!
Good luck with it all. As for the cat just leave a box with some old newspapers in it and she will soon make herself at home I hope you will all be very happy in your new home.
yep, cats hate moving almost as much as us, but they help pack! good luck and enjoy. Yes you be tired, but t least you have baroness in waiting to snuggle up with.
Good luck with the move, hope you and Miss Curfew are settle in and feeling at home quickly and recover from all the upheaval. I invested in Feliway for my two fairly neurotic cats when we had to move and it certainly helped them cope with the changes. Moving was exhausting for me (and those moves were pre-BI). Vanessa
WE SPENT 7 HOURS BOXING STUFF UP AT DAD'S ON WEDS, AFTER 4 1/2 HOURS LAST SAT & WE'RE GOING BACK AGAIN ON SUNDAY.
IF I EVER SEE ANOTHER DINNER SERVICE, WINE GLASS, MUG OR MORE TABLE LINEN I AM GOING TO SMASH THEM TO OBLIVION OR RIP THEM TO SHREDS RESPECTIVELY ( YOU OBVIOUSLY CAN'T SMASH A TABLECLOTH CAN YOU).
SOMEHOW I AM GOING TO END UP WITH ALL THE CHARITY STUFF IN MY HOUSE. IT'S EASIER FOR THEM TO COME HERE TO GET IT RATHER THAN ME HAVING TO GO TO DAD'S 400 TIMES TO LET THEM IN. . MY HOUSE LOOKS LIKE A WAREHOUSE & I'M NOT EVEN MOVING..
I REALLY HOPE YOU LOVE YOUR NEW HOME. LIKE ANYTHING WORTH WHILE THERE'S ALWAYS SHORT (?) TERM PAIN FOR AN EXCELLENT LONG TIME GAIN. IT'LL BEWONDERFUL ONCE YOU'RE SETTLED & CARDBOARD BOXES ARE BUT A MEMORY (HOW POETIC!)
I hope you have managed to complete your move successfully.
The excitement of moving and the reality of cardboard city can be overwhelming but give if a few weeks and it will feel like you have never lived anywhere else!
I'm moving my daughter out to uni halls next weekend so we are just packing things this weekend
So many fresh starts and new adventures it's great to see so many people still moving forward.
Hi Baron, only just caught up with ths discussion - I really hope the move went well and that Miss pussy cat galore has setlled in well along with rest of you all. Don't overdo te unpacking is there are still boxes let to open. I'm still surrounded by plenty as only just got some new furniture - just waiting for it to be assembled for me. The french are very good at promising to do things, yes my cheque book awaits - they are not so good t turning up when they say they will though. Hope you don't have similiar problems.
Good luck to you and the family in your new home - Shirley xx
well its a good job your not surrounded by lads boxers, to wash, joke, I know moving can be very stressfull , I do hope you don't tire yourself out to much, As far as your cat is concerned she will settle in I am sure. And be more happy soon I hope. And hopefully you may be able to catch up on some sleep.
