A few weeks ago my GP finally sent me for more blood tests after I complained about my ferritin repeatedly dropping and I took private blood results to show her it was low in range. I'd mentioned it a month before and they didn't want to check because it was all 'normal' before.
After seeing the adults she decided to recheck ferritin and after I asked why it kept going low she said probably because of periods, but decided to add a coeliac screen.
I managed to get a printout of my results but I'm not really sure what they are telling me, if anything.
TTG (IgA) <0.1 (0-7)
Serum IgA L 0.21 (0.8-4 g/L)
Oh and ferritin had dropped to 9.5 (20-300 ug/L) so I'm now on iron tablets twice a day.

hi there - I'm really not the best at reading test results but it looks to me as though you are IGA deficient - which would mean that your ttg results would show up negative whether or not you are coeliac.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong!
I would go back to docs and say you need to take it further - I spent at least 20 years testing negative for coeliacs on blood tests, but finally proved positive by biopsy with loads of gut damage. It's proving a rather long road to recovery so I do really regret not fighting for a diagnosis earlier.
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll need the luck! I've been trying to find out as much as I can myself before going back to the gp, I don't have all that much faith in them at the moment.
