Getting started on Gluten-Free (GF)

laurencehalliwell profile image

Hi

Recently diagnosed with Coeliac's disease I am now on a GF diet; at least probably. I'm looking for confirmation that my medication Actavis (now, think it was something else before) Levothyroxine and Atorvastatin is GF. Can anyone help please?

Also, can I go further and ask if anyone has any gluten information on the supplements I take please?:

Boots Calcium with Vitamin D (states ' no gluten containing ingredients' - why not say say GF - is this to cover against cross contamination I wonder?)

Aldi's Omega 3 Fish Oil capsultes

Lidl'sMinaVit Odourless Garlic

Aldi's Activ-Max Multi-Vitamins + Iron

Aldi's Activ-Max Glucosamine Sulphate & Vitamin C

Many thanks

Laurence

You could call the medical information line listed in the patient information leaflet.

Yeah, sorry, I was a bit slow there. Yes, in the case of the medication there was no info that I could identify with and the supplements there is no info. I willtry the dispensing pharmacist for the meds, as suggested by Lisahelen.

Thanks for youre interest

For any gp prescribed meds, ask the pharmasist who dispenses to look them up for you to set your mind at rest.

Lots contain lactose which many coeliacs cant tolerate, but you would have to ask for a milk allergy test to confirm this. Ive been gf for a year now and still have ongoing issues which i am now about to ask for allergy test.
