I'm 22 and I have an underactive thyroid but I'm always hungry, overly tired all the time, feeling depressed, have no energy what so ever and my hair is falling out too... Has anybody else had any experience like this at all- Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That sounds like I used to be. I emphasise used to be. I was eventually tested and found to have coeliacs disease. Added to that I was found to have a underactive thyroid. I am now on a strict diet. I now have more energy than I did 20 Yeats ago. My recovery time after exercise has improved dramatically. Keep pushing your GP And good luck
How were you diagnosed? You don't say what dose Levothyroxine you are on.
I actually have Autoimmune Thyroiditis (Hashimotos). Which has caused Hypothyroid.
Have you ever had an Ultrasound scan of your Thyroid? Have you seen an Endocrinologist?
A Consultant queried my Thyroid over 30 years ago but there was no follow up and it was all forgotten about.
I have suffered many years off and on and was finally diagnosed in 2011.
A woman on a Thyroid helpline told me to ask for the scan when I told her my symptoms. It showed on the scan and I was referred to the Endocrinologist and prescribed Levothyroxine, which I didn't take until after I'd seen him and had further tests.
My symptoms? All of yours plus: weight gain, constipation. Low body temperature, low blood pressure. Poor circulation, Mobilty problems, pain, swallowing problems, digestive disorders (many). I am now 3 -4 stone overweight.
Every cell in the body needs Thyroxine to function properly.
As you have been diagnosed young would I be right in thinking that you are on daily tablets now and have seen the Endocrinologist and had all the tests? I suppose you will have blood tests now every 6 or 12 months.
I'm 63 now. My advice would be look after yourself. Keep fit with your favourite exercise. You will get depressesed, rest and be kind to yourself. You will overcome this. Try to eat a healthy balanced diet. Don't make yourself eat anything you don't like. Drink plenty of water. Avoid excessive caffeine (coffee, fizzy drinks etc). Try decaf tea/coffee.
Hopefully your Levothyroxine should normalise some of your symptoms.
