Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a nationwide shortage of Cosopt preservative free eye drops and if so why? My GP’s surgery is having difficulty getting hold of them and the Monopost. I knew the Monopost was a problem but the Cosopt is new.

Hello. The Monopost shortage was rectified on 17th March. We are not aware of any problems with production of Cosopt. The pharmacist would be able to contact the manufacturers directly and they will advise them if there is a problem. Another option is for the pharmacist to call the wholesalers AAH who cover all of the UK to see if the problems lies with them and when they will be delivering in their area. Many patients make their consultant aware so that an alternative eyedrops can be prescribed to cover them during this time.

good morning although the monopost problem was supposedly solved last month I am still having trouble getting my prescription. Boots have had my prescription for two weeks and are still waiting for their delivery (west oxon) is anyone else still waiting for their monopost
hi - yes I am also waiting on Boots who gave me a third of my prescription. When I asked the pharmacist said it was because of the shortage backlog they are only receiving limited supplies. I also contacted the Eye clinic at the hospital and their only suggestion was that it wouldn’t hurt to go back on the preservative monopost - the very reason why I am now on preservative free! 🤦♀️
Hi Lorelei,I am on both monopst and cosopt and have spent 4 hours today going around looking for both.
Consultant advised me to get visutrax but can't get that either.
Rang drs but they can't help.
Everything is running out and I'm panicking!!😥
