Monopost and dry eyes

I have high ocular pressure in both eyes but worse in left eye. I was prescribed Monopost drops. I've been using the Monopost single dose at night in both eyes for about 6 weeks and I am due to see the doctor at the hospital on Wednesday. I do find that my eyes get drier overnight and I wake up with sore eyes. I am more aware of how my eyes feel during the day, if that makes sense and find I can only look at my phone and computer for short periods which is probably a blessing. Also my eyesight seems blurrier when reading but that may be my imagination. Hope my pressures are lower now. Anyone had similar problems?

Using dry eye drops will help. Use them as often as you feel you need to during the day. If you use them before or after using Monopost, leave at least 20 minutes before or after putting the drops in. Remember to blink when using the computer or reading. We forget to do this when we concentrate. When you feel your eyes getting tired or blurry. have a comfort break. Also the 20-20-20 routine can help. Look away from the computer or book every 20 minutes and look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

exactly same scenario with me! Much drier and bloodshot in the morning, and feel need to wash out, soothe with dry eye drops. Clean my eyelids and massage with ocusoft then more dry eye drops as eyelids feel bit sore. Soothing eye drops help during the day and avoid windy days! My second round of slt, after low pressure for over 4 yrs didn’t bring pressures down enough as already some nerve damage in left eye, so reluctantly using the Monopost at night. I do feel a more aware sensation in my eyes and around eyes in general and when I bend right down, but not sure if it’s just in my mind! Hasn’t seemed to have changed the aura migraines, sometimes with thick head, come and go in same unpredictable way. After using for over 2months, back to see the consultant today, not sure how it will go!

Thank you for replying. Obviously it is a side effect of Monopost for some people but if it brings down my eye pressures for the time being, it is bearable. Will get some more eye drops for the day and I find the heated eye mask is soothing. I did read that you shouldn't bend your eyes below your heart so I am trying not to bend down and have stopped part of my exercising which involves touching my toes. Hope all went well for your check up.

I had problems with Monopost so my consultant changed the drops to Fixapost. Also using a prescribed gel moisturiser in both eyes at night, which seems to help the dry eyes.

Mine are 22 and 17 but that is reduced so it was fine. Go back in six months.

Well done! My consultant aims for much lower pressures, but I’ve already got damage to the left eye nerve, so wants to keep as low as poss! I didn’t want to resort to drops but as the Monopost doesn’t seem to be too difficult to manage with dry eyes, etc I will c how it is next yr! Now I know it’s working I feel so much better and relieved, so no excuse not to get back on track with my life! ( including the 6months recovery of broken top of arm) take care!

I am the same, don't know if it's my imagination making me blurry or the drops or the glaucoma. I also suffer aura migraine, which worry me greatly. Do you think glaucoma causes them?

I don’t think it’s the galaucoma causing aura migraines in my case, I have benn having migraines, which in the past were far worse for over 70yrs! Glaucoma was diagnosed about 5yrs ago, they are disappointing hiccups, but try to enjoy the visuals, relax, and carry on after! Sometimes cause a low ebb, other times forget I’ve had them. Seems it on the list of suspects for glaucoma along with short sightless, but who knows!?
