I had a liver transplant at age 17 due to a severe genetic mitochondrial liver disease. I've had a lot of complications since the. MRSA bacteremia, C.Diff, sepsis x4, Multiple GI bleeds, Lung disease Including COPD, chronic atelectasis, and now aspergillus. I also have a lot of other organ issues due to my mitochondrial disorder. My entire GI tract is partially paralyzed as well as my bladder and I have liver and kidney issues, etc.. There's a lot more but you get the gist: it's a rough situation.
That's being said, Im scared but grateful to be alive. The aspergillus is new to me and I've been since for over 1.5 months with this at this point and they've done nothing. Waiting until April 17th to get seen to get evaluated again and start treatment. I'm used to infections but this is a new one
Overall, I'd really appreciate some kindness and connection, a community of you will. I am also always open to learning new things if you have any helpful things to share. Much love.
