Fungal sinusitis

Hi,

got ethmoid sinusitis after spending few months in a apartment with the mold issues. On CT/MRI scan, there are only small shades of inflammation visible of anterior ethmoid sinuses. However, after few months of dry and blocked nose, few pieces of sticky mucus with black parts went out - which I gave for culture - showed Bipolaris and Aspergilus flavus.

Blood tests showed borderline positive Aspergilus IgG and positive IgM.

I haven't use any medications - just basic nasal irigation until now, but my symptoms persist.

I have consulted few ENTs - one suggested operation to remove the mucus and take sample for biopsy, while the others recommended to continue with nasal irrigation.

Also, whom should I see in UK - someone specialized in aspergillosis in order to see how to threat it best

Any recommendation what to do should be welcome !

You can get referred to the National Aspergillosis Centre, in Manchester, UK where we specialise in these infections by Aspergillus. You GP will likely refer you to a local ENT service and they can refer you to NAC.
