Hi does anyone know of type of app or device that can track aspergillosis in the air. I have a fungal ball in my sinus and it's not getting removed for a while. I'm currently on steroids orally and nasel but I'm still having horrible episodes. Today I went outside in the wind for 5 mins. I've been terribly sick since. Feels like I've been beaten up. Nothing will stop it going down my throat it's horrific. Any tips or advice please.
Fungal episodes : Hi does anyone know... - Aspergillosis and...
Fungal episodes
I had eight fungal balls in my sinuses and my doctor prescribed Amphotericin-B to do via nebulizer twice a day as well as prescription oral anti-fungal medications. I also did sinus irrigation twice a day with a SinuPulse Elite machine, distilled water (important to not damage the cilia in your sinuses), and SinuAir Powdered Saline. I did this for over a year and was able to avoid surgery. Over time the fungal balls dissipated.
Are you totally cured now, without using the nebulizer or any other treatments? I’ve been taking itraconazole nasal drops for 3 year 2x/day and saline nasal rinse 1x/daily. Although, it’s better and the nasal balls have passed, I get very sick if I try to back off from the itraconazole drops. My ENT doctor thought I would have to continue for the rest of my life unless something changes with my immune system, etc.
While my fungal balls are gone I am still sick from mold. I am not a physician but I think I had the perfect storm of bad immune system/poor gut bacteria at birth, methylation issues, repeated exposures to toxic mold, duration of exposures, and the types of mold I was exposed (Stachybotrys, Chaetomium, and Aspergillosis primarily). Frankly, I do not know if I will ever regain my health and consider it a lifelong battle.
We’re basically in the same situation - it’’s A lifelong battle. I have thyroid disease along with mild acid reflux, allergy tests showed no strong allergy issues that would cause this. If I don’t take the itraconazole nasal drops I start to have a sore throat, thick mucus, etc.
Aspergillus travels through the air very easily as it has extremely tiny spores that float in the merest hint of an air current. It is widespread outdoors and consequently impossible to avoid completely but you can minimise by avoiding places where earth or rotting vegetation (eg compost heaps, dead leaves) is being disturbed. There are facemasks available that can filter out the spores, see nacpatients.org.uk/sites/de...
Thanks for your reply. I definitely need to buy one ASAP. Back on the steroid again. Keeps getting stuck in my throat though the night. I've never known such a high maintenance condition.one of the main places is my daughters school so it's unavoidable. I even start in primark. Will my sensitivity ever get better.
