My husband has been struggling with constant dull pain in his abdominal/ stomach area over 2 years now! We have seen specialist gastritis consultant, and completed many invasive tests to try and see if he has either a form of cancer of something else! All results are negative soo far except very high levels of Calprotectin it’s 4 figure higher then average and we don’t know what’s this due to. He is talking daily omeprezol and his consultant wants to try a short course of steroids. Can anyone relate to this scenario and suggest alternative tests? His consultant has exhausted every test including colonoscopy, endoscopy, camera test and mmr... thank you

Has he had a gastric emptying test, he eats a meal of egg on toast with nuclear solution and then the food is scanned every minute over many hours to determined how his stomach digests the food, or not... he may have gastroparesis which causes many horrible symptoms.
Have they checked his gallbladder? My husband and mother would get dull pains and feel ill after eating too much fatty food to only discover gallbladder was bad ... its a subtle type of thing so I'm told.
