3 day wellness window!

I managed to source a second hand bed head on a good day. It had been undercoated already, so I just had to buy a tester pot of paint to match material I had at home. I used an old bed cover for padding. After a repaint to get rid of stencils I decided against, I was really pleased!!!! It took a couple of days, and the upholstering was done sitting on the floor. It's also standing on 2 bricks till I make leg extensions, lol. But all I can see is the top. So pretty chuffed with myself, even tho the wobbles are back, I got it done. WOOHOOO!

(Sorry the photo is blurred.)

That looks so impressive, that you managed to get enough energy to get it done 'in one go' just adds to it.

Love the colours too!

That's who I used to be all the time. I guess now, I can prioritise as I have a very long time to decide what I am going to do the next time I am up to it. Haha. Fewer duds that way.

It's so easy isn't it. I had the material from a sale a year ago. If I love and have the cash, I get it coz I KNOW I will use it.

Thanks. Feeling more settled as I get things done. Mainly slllooowwwllly. 😅

Dont we have a martha stuart in this support group. The paint really does match the decore of the room. How did you upholster? Did you use a a staple gun and what else? Do you have wood working experience?

Well it was complicated coz I had to cut material in 2 and make 2 sides. So stapled down the middle of with both sides and along bottom for symmetry. Stuffed them both and tucked end sides in then used upholstery studs on the top edge to look fancy pants!

No real wood work experience simply because I have no lathe etc to play with. Bought the head board as shown. Just painted and padded. But I would lovvvvve to make all kinds of things in wood. I have so many ideas all the time. Just too expensive. So I do smaller things like make a staff from a branch of do up furniture. Once I cut up a sofa and remade it a new shape. That was hard work.

Do you have a term or saying for cheap and fast work? Some people call it Jimmy Rig, redneck engineering . Like holding a front bumper of a car with duck tape and wire ties lol. Because the branch idea was cool and funny. I made a cane out of a tree branch when I was seven. Im 33 now. Lol never thought I couldve used it.

But im glad you told me how you did that because projects in the future like what I made could be made differently or the material could be better. Engineering/design challenges.

I've been poor my whole life. It sucks, hence me and the business creation. A big step toward financial prosperity.

I made a smoke machine to diagnose vapor leaks in cars for under 30 US dollars. I made it out of 1 dollar mechanic wire, a 3 dollar paint can, 1/4 in or 6 millimeter ply wood, an electric tire pump, dirt, baby oil, and some tubing. The darn thing still produces smoke and actually works still, plus its better than the 2000 us dollar smoke machines sold for this work because those run off of shop compressed air. Mine runs off a vehicle battery making mine portable. Look "dodgy" but it works every time. Some backyard boys could've made it lol.

Hey! Some of the best things came from backyard designers! Might be worth collecting a few things together like smoke machine and trolley to launch a website/shop.

Handy tip here though. My brother works in IT and had a talk from some super dooper guy who did programming. This guy basically said that to use Google and Facebook etc advertising is so hit and miss, you are better doing old fashioned advertising unless you can spend loads of money. So have the web page etc to visit, but concentrate on local advertising, or targeted advertising. Even reach out to companies with the idea (copyrighted) for improvement/investment.

Richard Branson came from a very poor family!

Seriously, the only limits are your imagination. It might be a cliche, but it's true. Will tell you my reasons another time, but just go for it!!!!!

PS. You made me smile and feel hopeful after an agrivating, due only to my own mood, so cheers! 🤩

You're welcome I'm glad someone is because this condition blows. I wasn't like this in January and now just standing is hard and the walking pha let me tell you, after I walk over and over shoot I say to myself dude im glad I sit all day now. But I wake up and still smile. I have this website which is a gift, my drive to do more things, and my lovely wife and life.

I'm still not back to work yet. (Even though i'm still being paid, which is cool) But at this point I just say man this is the 2nd time in a year and half with 2 employers. I just want to earn a living and do great things. Not get let go because I appear unstable and the company needs to cover their own butt. How am I supposed to work. NDIS is cool if I was aussie or get some sort of disability benefits but no I need legal council for that and it takes time. Man I have bills to pay what the heck. You moved and its just like that. Thats why Im taking your words in consideration and just make my own way.

At least if I was to end up in a chair no one could say anything to me because well, I own the business lol

That looks awesome. Grab the good days and be creative I love making chain mail clothes and jewellery it’s my stress reliever. Still trying to convince hubby a forge is what our garden is missing as I have always wanted to be a blacksmith he’s not convinced 😹

I too am setting up a business linked to what I used to do as a vet nurse you can only tell yourself off for not being at work on bad days then.

Keep being creative peeps.
