FND Summer and Winter Camps for patients wellness

Hello everyone in our community,

I am going to start having FND Patient Care camps. These will be put on by patients to help other patients and family members help understand what we go through on a daily basis.

Mindfulness, meditation, lite exercise such as modified Tai-Chi, hydrotherapy, art therapy in water colors and colored pencils, cooking classes, hiking, fishing, card games, fun relaxing time in the mountains. Seeing Colorado's most beautiful outdoors!

The winter camp is a little different. Skiing and snowsports is the theme with hydrotherapy, ski biking, snowshoeing, x-c skiing, snowmobiling, food and rekaxing hot tubs.

This is a serious endeavor which is being started because of the lack of motivation to help treat us in a positive way. You can contact myself at this site.

The winter camp will be in March and summer camp in July.

Summer camp will be held at Kebler Corner in Sommerset Colorado on Kebler Pass. This is the most beautiful wildflower and Aspen groves in the world.

What a fantastic idea. wish we had something similar in the UK. I suffer with FND, non epileptic attacks, PTSD and anxiety and lost my old job. I've retrained as a personal trainer and want to help those with disabilities so something like this in the UK would be right up my street. Good luck with it.

This is offered for you folks also!!! Kevin Clark in Bristol at FND FrieNDs is trying to coordinate his folks if interested. We have 6-8 so far all couples. Kebler Corner is the location, if flying from Gatwick it is direct to Denver, then a 4 hr car ride for 6 days of just patient therapy. If we have enough people/couples it will be very reasonable. 200 for6 days/nites, 100 for food, fun money for the Hotsprings and personal stuff. Car rentals are great on Booking.com or train to Glenwood and we can pickup there.

This is a great idea. My husband and I would be very interested in coming to the summer camp for this. We live in Western Iowa so this would not be to far of a commute for us.
