Gulf War Illness/ Syndrome....

Hi all, Does anyone on here believe that they suffer from GWS?

I am a long serving suffer of Chronic Pain, Sleep deprivation, Non-epileptic Seizures, Joint pain and Migraines. For years I have been battling these symptoms believing, as it is very similar to other Gulf War veterans, they pointed to GWS but have always hit a brick wall through health professionals lack of knowledge and the Government refusing to acknowledge it exists due to Chemical and Biological exposures and inoculations.

Yesterday, I saw a wonderful Neurosurgeon who as well as conducting a more in-depth MRI scan, but also a Gold Standard Pituitary Gland Insulin Test.

Very happy to have found the illness details, and support mechanisms such as this.

So the original question... Any other Gulf War Veterans from '91 have similar conditions?

Thanks,

Karl

You're in the U.K.? Is there a difference between treatment in the U.S. and the U.K.? Or are both governments and medical systems in similar states of denial?

Hi Nurmi,

Not answering for Karl, sure he has plenty to tell us and I'm more knowledgable in PTSD and combat, but GWS is real no matter what the government of the U.K. And the ministry of defence say, which is that we've done a billion studies and there is nothing to prove that the 'secretly labelled' medications we gave our soldiers to protect them from CBRN threats did them any harm.

Just gather together all the ex military who are going through what Karl is and tell them there is no such thing as GWS.

The problem is - the excuse is there are too many symptoms from GWS and while they say they recognise GWS as a condition the symptoms are too far reaching to be put into a tidy little box and medically labelled properly so research can learn how to treat symptoms.

To Karl, glad you are getting some help and if you are getting treatment for FND or anything else neurological feel free to ask as many questions as you want, all of us have different symptoms, severities and experiences.

Iv known some people with GWS and it's not made up, just like those who say FND is not real. Not trying to compare the two in anyway whatsoever but you have support here.

From the research Ive read via Gulf War Veterans Group and also been included in some US Groups, the US have acknowledged GWS/ GWI and have started to actively help their veterans
