Well, here we are, final planned cystoscopy yesterday and thankfully still no tumours to see.
The care shown to me by the Urollogy team at Wansbeck hospital seems to be paying off for me. I shall be for ever grateful.
Next stage is another cysto in 6 months followed by annual cysto for the rest of my life, to check for any recurring tumours in the future.
As a 75 year old I suggested that cystoscopy a year for the next 40 years would be quite expensive for the NHS!
So far it has been a long slog and I am very aware that I have been very lucky in being able to tolerate the BCG washes. But to all who are about to embark and those already on this amazing rollercoaster of a ride I would say keep the faith, trust your health team and work hard to evict the unwelcome lodger in your bladder.
Life is sweet and well worth fighting for. Good luck to you all.
The fight continues.
David.

I start my course of BCG a week on Wednesday , my faith will see me through and my strength to tolerate it will be with the trust off the team and the love of God .
