CatheterPain: I have bladder cancer... - Fight Bladder Cancer
CatheterPain
my husband had operation bladder prostate removed stoma bag now
i hated having to wear a cath after my first 2 BC surgeries.....did not have any pain in my penis but - it was sometimes uncomfortable- i would speak with my dr ASAP
I had a prescription for phenazopyridine. I think that was for penis pain, discomfort and painful urination (after the cath. was removed). Don't recall it helping much and stained everything. I had a cystectomy and prostatectomy last August. I have a urostomy and everything in that area is fine. Unfortunately, my BC metastasized and I am currently getting chemo for a tumor in my lung.. I wish you all the best!
What kind of chemo do they have you on ?. They have me on taxol. Appreciate a reply thanks.
I did 10 rounds of Carboplatin & Gemzar. Then there was a sudden drop in platelet count, so now they are doing just Gemzar--one infusion/week for 2 weeks, a week off and repeat. Started last Dec. and it has stopped the spread and is shrinking the tumor (now in my lung). I get PET scans after every 3 cycles. No serious side effects other than being tired and anemia.
I'm a woman who had bladder cancer catheter was awful 😫 painful. I now have a urostomy. no pain there anymore. I have heard it pulls a lot on men. Hope u get sorted soon. Good luck 🍀
Not on any treatment plan as yet,as I had to wait a long time for MRI scan. now done and Dr's discussing plan now.
Good Luck 😉
I have bladder cancer, the tumor was removed December 2015, have had a Catheter and leg bag since. I have low level pain every day which is controlled with Paracetamol, I suffer some discomfort and stinging in the penis but have been told this is deferred pain from the bladder. I had Radiotherapy early 2016 which delt with the bladder. But unfortunately the tumor had gone through the bladder wall causing secondaries in my lungs which have been treated with Chemotherapy which ended late August last year, I have been scanned every 12 weeks since the last one only 10 days ago, my results so far have shown the lung cancer to be stable, I am praying for the same result again, still waiting for the results. Stay positive think of all that is good. I still enjoy the comfort, love and happiness of my wife and family, especially our 14 grandchildren. God bless you all.
I had non Muscle invasive Bladder cancer G3 p Ta TCC +CIS 2016 and had BCG treatment but this caused secondary urinary tract infection. since developed int Flat CIS bladder mucosa and prostatic urethra - Prostatic Adenocarcinoma Ductal subtype (Gleason 4+4+8). put on LHRH major op hormone treatment until op can be assessed.
Pain still bad but put onto Morphine liquid self administered and this has helped.
awaiting now for major surgical intervention ( Cystoprostatectomy and Nephroureterectomy. biopsy in 3 weeks to further evaluate.
I have large family of grandchildren so want to be around for them.
Hope you are still positive as I am.
