Hi I am awaiting an appointment with an anethitist to check I am ok to have my operation to remove bladder and hysterectomy. I have c.o.p.d. and a problem with my heart. I am a 70 year old and have now been waiting 3 weeks. Just wish I could get a date. It is all very frustrating. Is this normal? Diagnosed in May Tumour removed in June

Hi Let’s hope you don’t have to wait much longer - seems a long time I’m sure. Good luck with the operation and recovery there are lots of fit survivors of this procedure on this site who can offer encouragement.
Best wishes
I really hope you feel better soon. I've just had a clear scan, and result that all margins were clear 4 months after op to remove bladder, prostate, urethra and 22 lymph nodes. I think you should feel free to push people hard for dates and results. However, I'm sure the couple of weeks is ok.
Best wishes,
Jo in Belfast
Thanks I intend ringing my contact nurse today to see if she has any idea of when I can at least see anethitist
Best wishes
My husband had his bladder removed, and living with it is not as bad as it may seem. Good luck with your surgeries.
Hi...the waiting is the worst... I had bladder removed and hysterectomy over 6 years ago... hope you hear soon and yes ring your nurse as that's what she is there for
Thanks would love to chat more about recovery etc. How do you manage on holiday with bathers etc. Chris
