Hi all, the last time I posted to this site was right before I had the seeds implants which was approximately 76 days ago. It took some time for me to decide to go with Brachy Therapy. I canceled surgery twice and almost canceled Brachy Therapy twice too. However, family, friends and also my doctors advised that I should make-up my mind on what treatment to have which I had deliberated on for about 7 months. During my deliberation I read several books on PC, attended a PC conference, spoke with several doctors and had the great opportunity to speak with the wise but sometime brutally honest Tall Allen. Well It's been 76 days after the seeds implant and I feel great if you don't count that I haven't had a full night sleep since the procedure due to contently having to urinate which also usually take some time to do. For the first 2 months it was painful. My doctor recently prescribed Hydrocodone 5 MG for the pain which I take as needed. The after surgery/treatment pills I am taking are 1 Trospium ER 60 MG every morning and 1 Tammsulosin 0.4 MG before going to bed. I'm also taking a lot of supplements. It to early to tell if the treatment been a success. I was diagnosed with 3+4 Gleason score and a 6.4 PSA. I just turned 58 on August 13th and I also have a form of skin cancer that my doctors advised that it's not life threatening but something they are monitoring too. I've given up red meat and chicken now for about 10 months (eat a little fish sometimes), don't eat hardly any dairy, not to much sweets except for the Peanut Butter & Chocolate "Love Crunch" Granola and Susan's No Sugar Vegan Chocolate Cookies (a man has to have some vice). If I didn't have this on going problems with plumbing I would be very happy with the results so far, but up to this point it's been more challenging than what I expected. The recovery haven't been debilitating but it's problematic and a little draining at time especially during the wee hours in the morning. If you want to know how's the sex, well me and my wife got busy a few times and the side effects have been a stronger urine flow for a day and difficulty with urinating a day afterwards. It's the classic example of "dam if I do and dam if I don't". I'll give an update again after I get my first PSA results after treatment. I'm very inspired by the stories of the men and women on this site, You're magnificent warriors and for those who are deciding which method of surgery/treatment to take, whatever procedure you decide the recovery will likely take some time.

Morning I just wanted to say I know what you have been through as my PSA AND Gleason score were the same, I’m now 3 1/2 post Brachytherapy the great news is my recent PSA was so low it was almost unreadable, unfortunately the good news ends there as I seam to be the 1 in 1000 men to have profound side effects, but I remain positive and look forward to the time when all the effects of Brachytherapy has been sorted, my best wishes I send to you and all others in the same positions.
