my illustrator has resigned too much work on apparently. Back to DIY oh well. Feel very exhausted today struggling to keep eyes open for some reason - best have a nap be back later xgins

Aww gins, what an incredible talent you must have, I had what u thought was a book in my head some years back when my niece was about 8, hmmmm so that means about 8 years ago,,.,..Foggy's brain is, as ever, foggy and porridge like ! It was about fairies and pixies living in the roots of trees and their adventures, inspired by a trip with the niece and passing though a beech lined lane with all wonderfully contorted roots showing, so I told her a little story.........oh dear.......that was wrong, I had my brother on the phone asking me what stupid ideas I had been putting into H's head.........so having spent a few nights composing, I consigned it to the bin. But well done you, is there any chance you could find another illustrator ? It seems such a shame to waste such talent. Foggy x

Men they have no appreciation of fairies and pixies and their little adventures.... My son was bought up on Enid blyton and the magic faraway tree.... One night he just said.. Mummy this is stupid it isnt real ... That's when I realised he was so like his dad......he was 5 .... I missed my bedtime stories with him

I'd be interested to know how you got started gins. I have one written ...aimed at 9 to 12 years I think. I don't have enough faith in it to get published....and no money. Was your first one published easily? When I pluck up the courage I'm thinking of kindle publishing. Its quite scary putting something out there.

I enjoy writing them, and have a second one half written. Of course editing takes longer than writing.

I think it takes real courage to get published first time. X well done.

As I read to my 15 month grandson now, I'd love to know what your books are x He's just started pointing meaningfully at pictures and taking part. Very special time.

VG I have a son who loves fairies and pixies....even now he's 27. He's an artist so has that active imagination. Its not all men...We're both reading Benedict Jacka books now, which are about the magical community....brilliant....although not as pretty as children's books lol
