Has anyone entered the Support Group under Exceptional Circumstances?

I feel this is an important one where the more you do the worse you get, which is detrimental to health. I'm wondering if anyone has been successful on this one. Thanks

Hi, I have actually just put a post on as well regarding me being put into the WRAG group after being on Incapacity for years. I am in the process of filling in the appeal form and came across a site advising to use the Exceptional Circumstances under Regulation 35. I think this should apply to us all on here so I will be putting this on my claim form. I do also have peripheral Neuropathy and prolapsed disc and arthritis and colitis. And all are getting worse.

I've also been put in WRAG and went to CAB Tuesday to start my appeal. I posted yesterday about Regulation 35 and that I mentioned this while at my CAB appointmnet. The lady I saw had not heard of this and went out of the room to seek advice. This was then included as part of my appeal and included on my appeal form which I posted, recorded yesterday. I also attached letter I had written as went back to work after off sick for a year ,with full support from my employers who I had worked for for over 30 years, but my health got worse and I have not recovered. Hence me using reg 35.

Link i got info from dwpexamination.org/forum/ge...

I think it would be very hard on ego challenge. Its hard enough trying to get some doctors to accept you have the condition, but trying too get the DWP or ATOS to accept that it is a condition that is detrimental to your health is going to be difficult as the condition effects us all differently. One person can cope with the symptoms of Fibro whereas another may not be able to. I think its just going to be on an individual basis and whether or not you have other medical conditions along with Fibro.

I'm not trying to be negative just realistic xx (((hugs)))

Thanks for your replies. I agree it is a complex issue and proving it is difficult - though by collecting plenty of examples is the only way, though if these are not accepted that is a different story. If a person exceeds ones limitations by being able to do shopping or attending for an hour or two and the consequences are that this incurs a flare up of symptoms where you can become housebound for days or longer then these are exceptional circumstances where health deteriorates both mentally and physically and are detrimental. Though in reality whether ATOS accept this another thing. They are the ones who put in place Exceptional Cricumstances. It does apply for most I feel as a fluctuating condition(s).
