Too have ibs so can sympathise there and the weather seems determined to finish some of us off altogether .. I hope you appt at the pain clinic isn't too bad and most importantly you get some help and answers...take care of yourself the best you can

Thank you very much grumpy ( love your name) you take care too.x
Hi Ann. Sorry you're having such a rotten time of it. The swelling in your feet could be oedema, especially as you're not able to walk much at the moment. Unlike the blood vessels which have valves to keep blood where it should be, the lymphatic system relies of muscle contraction to help pump lymph around and stop it obeying gravity and pooling round your lower limbs. Try sitting or lying with your legs raised for a while if you're able and seated exercise involving your lower leg and ankle can help move the fluid (hard to do when everything hurts I know). Speak to your GP - they might be able to refer you for physio for some suitable exercises x
Hi misty thanks for your reply I have never heard of oedema just going to look it up thanks.
Just looked up oedema and sounds and looks similar but some of the photos on the web site shows the ankles and feet a lot more swollen then mine. But going to make a appointment with doctor again ( must be sick of me ) but Carnt carry on like this , but they but everything down to the fibro,
Hi Ann - keep your feet up when you can, that may help the swelling to go down. You might want to ask your GP about it, in case your blood pressure is playing up.
I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Ann, it could also be your blood pressure tablets. My legs got so swollen I thought they were going to burst, it was awful. I was retaining fluid and needed water tablets so has to have my blood pressure tablets looked at and adjusted.
