Welcome. Have a look around the site, read questions and answers, blogs and contribute whenever you want to.

You may come across some really stressed people here - but thats why we are here, to support each other. Don't panic though, it does not mean you will experience the same things. We are all different.

You might like to get Fibromyalgia for Idiots - a helpful book and very useful, I keep recommending it because it was a big help for me. It has a section that helps you explain FM to others in it.

Make sure your doctor really understands about FM. I am lucky as mine does. Get diagnosed by a knowledgeable Rheumatologist - you will need that for the Disability Living Allowance, soon to become PIP. I have the mobility allowance which pays for my mobility scooter. You may not need one, which is great.

Look on anything you can no longer do as, at least you have done it! We all get to the stage when we cannot do things. Sadly that is earlier for FM people. But don't be a victim and give in to it. Keep up gentle exercise, non repetative movements, swimming. Avoid anything that means a repeated movement which could pull muscles as a slight strain could become very painful and a weakened area.

Soft hugs
