Sulphasalazine 500mg

I've been put on Sulphasalazine 500 mg,

Week 1 - 1 tablet a day

Week 2 - 2 tablets a day

Week 3- 3 tablets a day

Week 4-4 tablets a day..

This is on top of all ma other meds, does anyone know if these tablets work i think they are for the onset of rhuematiod arthritis but not sure i think it's for some kind of imflammation, i've already got osteo in all ma joint i've even had both hips replaced.

I've noticed i'm getting more n more exhausted and it's so painful n diff to get out of bed, i'm, a full time carer for my mom and have to push myself ffor her sake but when she has her afternoon nap i have one too cos i'm shattered,,i'm due to have an mri off ma spine n pelvis next month too.n have to go for blood test every 2 weeks cos of this medication

Does anyone know anything more about this medication

Sulfasalazine is a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD). It dampens down the underlying disease process, rather than simply treating symptoms.... From that it seems that is is indeed for the onset of your rhematoid arthritis. For more information on this

My son takes them for Ulcerative Colitis, (inflamation of the stomach) they are very strong tablets. And very effective xx
