I get both lots of ESA from what I cab understand on my letters.Would my son qualify for free school lunches? I only get benefits (housing benefit/council tax benefit /working tax credit /child tax credit & child benefit as well as child maintenance.

Hi Amanda I have looked around for you and it seems each borough has a list of criteria ... In the ones I looked at said YES to ESA but NOT if you get working tax credit... Very confusing .... The best thing I can suggest is you look on your local council website or contact the actual school.

Hi amanda

For what I know as long as you are in benefits u are entitled for school meals and transport but if u get working tax credit u are not entitled

Is the only benefit that cuts a lot of other ones
