been turned down for disability not happy !!! :(
appeal, get some help from the cab but dont give up you will get there in the end, good luck xx
Hi, I think their default response is no and that they hope people will go away. Keep fighting, get advice from the CAB like munchkin62 says, and keep fighting. Xx
Oops, fibrofog there, didn't realise I'd repeated myself!
Sorry to hear this Sooz. Give yourself a bit of time to take all this in and perhaps you will feel like appealing.
If you haven't already got the Benefits and Work info sheets, we can send you these for free if you email us on info@fibroaction.org. These info sheets contain lots of helpful info on ESA and DLA, completing forms, assessments and appeals etc.
Wishing you all the very best whatever you decide.

hiya hun ive been on ESA about 3 years now as i have had problems for a long time depression sleep disorder so thwy thought and now fibro and they think ME or CFS too, I rang dla up the day i got our letter and told them i was not happy with their decision so she said you have 2 options you can asked for it to be looked at via a different decision maker or appeal so i said i will go for the first option then if i'm still turned down i will appeal in writing? what do you think?? i wish i could show u a copy of the letter they sent me telling me what i can and can't do like they know me sorry i don't like like some folks do to get money i am truly not well xxxx
hi ive got a medical with atos on 11th of feb this is my 2nd one as i lost my appeal on 2nd nov 2012 i got my money reinstated on jan but really scared im going to fail my medical again ive not got fibro but have attypical chest pain chronic back pain spondylitis in my neck also tennis elbow in right arm i have also got a stress fracture in my left foot i am at my wits end as my daughter has mental health problems and is really bad at moment i could be doing without this i also have ibs as well im at end of my tether any advice would be much appreciated xx
Hiya Sooz, is this the first time you have applied for disability allowance? If so, they usually tend to turn first time appliers down, (not sure why.) But you've done the best thing by asking them to get it looked at again, as they usually give you it a second time, but I don't want to get your hopes up as this isn't always the case! I still have the DLA forms sat here after 3 months, I'm scared to send them as it's so much stress! I've never applied before, I'm scared of being turned down, as I know I'll only get myself worked up! I wish you the best of luck getting accepted as the money helps people like us go a long way! Fingers crossed, let us know how you get on
