Jaw...teeth n gums pain...

Does anyone else get shockingly awful pain in their teeth, gums n jaws? Aaaargh x

Yes i do, i have ben in agony for a few weeks now and my normal meds are not helping but i have a wheatbag that i heatup in the microwaveandholding that againstthe sidewhich is worse does help. Apparently there is a condition connected with fibro that has these symptoms ( i think its called tmj) and the cold seems to be making mine worse. Sorry i couldnt be any more help but im sure Libs from admin knows more about this but at least you know you are not alone.

I do too, this has been mis-understood by many as stress, causing the clenching, but I find I'm doing it without realising and then I suffer terrible pain from the clenching. Sometimes it gets so bad it's like having an infection in a root canal "which i've had" and it throbs just like it, at one point i thought it was to do with my teeth but no infection was found, i have used clove oil which is disgusting, but when you're in that much pain you don't just try pain relief meds as the majority that are strong enough to take the edge off don't agree with my stomach as have "ibs" too, and ibuprofen landed me in hospital in the past, unfortunately the only thing that works for me is diazapam, which leaves me unable to correspond and connect as it makes me more cloudy than i already am, so is only used as a last resort. YES TERRIBLE HAD AN AWFUL TIME THIS WEEK WITHA FILLING I HAD LAST WEEK ITS TRIGGERED OFF AWFUL PAIN IN MY FACE N JAW ,I DONT THINK THE COLD WEATHER HELPS .

I dnt clench my jaw...at all...in fact...my lower jaw

Is slightly forward so i cnt really...my teeth dnt "meet"

A dentist appointment....have dr tmrw....so so fed up of bein ill,

Jaw pain could be Temporo-Mandibular Joint disorder - it is common with fibromyalgia. Often people have extensive dentistry for pain and then in the end they find it is TMJ - I had horrible jaw and face pain on the left side and now I wear a frame in my mouth at night and it isn't good but it is much improved. Get a check with your nearest NHS dental hospital.

It was dental....have infection under my wisdom tooth

Got antibiotics...kinda relieved...cos

It SHOULD improve!

For others of us who suffer tooth, gum or jaw pain, here is some info which may be helpful -

There is also the possibility that your pain could be linked to TMJD, it might be worth mentioning this to your dentist as a possibility. TMJD is quite common in those who already have Fibromyalgia.

One possible explanation of the link between Fibro and TMJD is Myofascial Pain. Myofascial Pain is very common in people with Fibro and cause TMJD.
