Good luck I tried amitriptaline for 4 weeks and it made me feel like a zombie and gave me itchy sore eyes, fortunately I was only on 10mg as I am on other meds too, so it was easy just to stop it.. Feel so much more awake and my eyes cleared up within two days , I am on 75 mg dosulepin for sleep and it has worked great for me for years... Have you thought about trying a different anti depressant for sleep when you are off the others ... Dosulepin was the 3rd one I tried that finally worked

Good luck

VG x

i came off 75mg amitriptaline earlier this year 25mg evry 2 weeks the only side affect i noticed was weired dream .now feel better from not taking it

Spurs please be careful and reduce your meds slowly under medical supervision from your GP. You may otherwise experience side effects that could make you feel poorly. It's better to take your time and slowly reduce your dose under guidance.

I used to take 100mg Amitriptyline, then my GP reduced slowly to 75mg, then 50mg, then 25mg, then stopped altogether after taking them for four years. I feel much better not taking them at all. :)

Take care Spurs. (((hug))) xxx
