I only have fibro, well IBS as well but that goes with fibro.
I know some people have fibro after other medical complaints
Just wondered if fibro leads to other medical complaints.

I have also been diagnosed with depression and anxiety recently. I am pretty certain I didn't suffer from either before I became ill with Fibro. Bad tinnitus also started about 9 months ago. Strictly speaking though I guess that they could also be described as symptoms of Fibro rather than 'extras' Jane x
There is no medical evidence at all that fibro causes other illnesses, but having fibro doesn't stop you getting other diseases, so it's important not to blame everything on fibro and to seek medical advice if unusual symptoms appear.
IBS and depressive symptoms are recognised components of fibro, and sufferers will often have rheumatoid and/or osteo arthritis as well, which will need specific treatment in addition to the treatment given for fibro.
We discussed this issue a while back, this link will take you to the discussion and points discussed there -

No problem at all Vivien, we often discuss issues many times, it doesn't matter at all. With new members joining the forum all the time, issues always remain current. Please don't worry at all, it's absolutely fine!
Sometimes we post links on issues we have discussed before to combine the discussion if that makes sense, we see more viewpoints this way too.
