As promised an update on my ATOS assessment. I received the dreaded brown envelope this morning. (Why does reading it with one eye closed and at arms length make it easier!!!!) I have been placed in the Work Related Activity Group. Which I think means I have to attend work focused interviews. Still a waste of time as my retirement date is now less than a year away, but, heyho I'm getting good at blagging.
The good news is they have also put my money up! I now get an extra £26 a week. Fantastic. Well thats it guys, Good news, bad news. Gentle hugs to all. Val x

I am less than two years off getting my state pension and cannot understand why on earth they are wasting time and money by chasing people of my age. I was put in the WRAG group in July and am waiting to hear back from the DWP to see if they will reconsider their decision, so have got out of going to the job centre! If I ever hear back from them will go to full appeal and this will probably take up until near my retirement date. It will surely end up costing them a lot more than two years of ESA
As I said before I have less than a year to go until I retire. Why are they bothering trying to get me back to work? My friend says that work focused interviews are to teach me how to be in a job interview, surely you have to get to the interview stage first! By the time I tell them on the application form that I have arthritis and fibro and that I will be retiring next September, I won't get to any interview. The DWP should be putting their money on getting younger people into work. Val x
