cant pee: Ho no Im having problems... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
cant pee
This may well be nothing to do with Fibro and could be a UTI. You need to go to the GP and get checked. UTIs can become serious if untreated, especially if they reach the kidneys and some of the symptoms can be confused with a Fibro flare.
i have the same symptoms but have also had two UTIs in three months, my GP said my having fibro makes me more likely to get them.
Hi susie checked for UTI and it came back clear, but I think I will go back to GP and have it checked again.

Hi I'm having bladder and bowel problems and went to a clinic about it yesterday . The nurse told me that fm effects our bladders and bowels , my bladder apparently doesn't empty properly so when i get the initial urge to pee i have to ignore it and distract myself and not pee until i get the next urge because like you i am having to go to the toilet too much . Also she said when i think ive emptied my bladder i have to lean forward and that should empty my bladder fully . I hope this works because she said i would have to self catheterise if it doesnt . you must be exhausted with it all .
Hi Floozy It does sound like aspects of Fibo and I do have probs with bowels as well but have put that down to morphine patches for pain relief. I will try what the nurse told u to do, hope it works, thank u for your advice I would hate to have a catheter, another loss of dignity, hate this fibro and what it does to self esteem . Anyway sorry for being a moaning minnie.

I have read in many places that fibro can cause irritable bladder, and bowel. I believe I suffer to a degree with both. However, having no idea of your age, I would hope at the worst it's a UTI, which does need treatment before you get any worse. But I had this new year 2011, and after a couple of months I was diagnosed with diabetes, I am 55 now, but it is something to bear in mind with frequent urination, are you very thirsty, lost/gained weight? I gained about 2 1/2 stone prior to diagnosis. Get checked asap, if nothing else to put you mind at rest.
Hi Stormy ty for your reply went to GP and he tested urine it came back clear, I am always thirsty and have gained a lot of weight but have put it down to medication for thirst and stopping smoking for weight gain, I will ask Gp to check when I go again.

Hi I too get this problem & am having it today. I would sit with the taps running to try get me started. I sometimes wonder if its down to medication or stress. I am very stressed today. My ex mum n law died suddenly this morning.

A couple of years ago , when I hit the big 50 I was having this problem , had it for a few years and it got worse and worse. I went for treatment when it got painful and did have infections. Later it carried on but I started taking Co -enzyme Q10 - for totally un-related reason and found my need to Pee every 10 minutes - before I left home-as soon as I arrived anywhere-constantly feeling like I was going to have an accident. Paranoid I was going to become incontinent. It seemed to clear the whole problem up...I can now get through a few hours sleep without running back and forward to the loo. This could be a coincidence - I have no idea why it would work for this but - --- - I am still happily taking my vits and can hold my pee....might be worth a try....If you do ... hope it works for you too...x
