Yes i have had several i also found it very useful as i got a lot of aids for my home that have helped. I also managed to get an electric wheelchair which gave me the freedom to go out on my own again. Dont be scared of it as it can give valuable help to you.
I've had them - not to be assessed for disabled status though as my council doesn't/didn't do that. They were really nice, wanted to know about all the things I struggled with and why. This was back when I was really ill with Fibro and I got help from careworkers for a time to relieve the pressure on my husband, as well as a couple of useful aids such as a bath board and advice from OTs.
well I attended my assessment and they have registered me disabled now.....the lady was ever so nice and made me feel totally comfortable and relaxed
