Hi Jeannie. There are different sorts. Some are just like an extra bit of mattress layer and some(Like the one I have) are memory foam and just make it all a bit easier to sleep on. A full memory foam matress can be too soft and sort of suck you in. If you check on line there are lots of places selling them. I got miner ffrom John Lewis (approx £100.00). Worth every penny as it has really made my bed more cosy. Hope that helps :)

Hi jeanie, i got my memory foam topper from Dunelm. It was about £25 but not sure if it was just a one off sale of stock. I have found it very comfortable even though it's only about and inch and a half thick!

Hi.Jeannie, l bought a memory foam mattress topper off the TV,THINK IT WAS ABOUT 100 POUND,waste of time for me,then bought a quilted mattress topper, just made me sweat, funnily enough l have just an hour ago had a new Sealy Bed with memory foam mattress, wasnt cheap, only hope l can get a bit of comfort, think it depends on whats aches and pains youve got,not for everybody. good luck.

i went to buy a memory foam double size bed 5 years ago and the mattress was £500, but at the time they had a whole bed plus mattress and memory foam pillow for the same price! so i bought the bed,i believe as everything does when it has been on the market for a while ,it reduces in price,i was told by the bed specialist after i bought the bed, that mattress toppers only really work well if your bed base is not more than 3 yrs old and is a good solid frame x
