so sorry to hear your haveing a bit of a tough time rite now, ohh dont worry bout the dust, that will be there next week and the week after that too lol you just concentrate on your recovery hunni, and sending love and hugs and get well wishes xxxx
Hi sue, sorry to hear your leg is still swollen, but this happend to my friend after her hip op but righted itself after a while.
She was to say the least a very over weight lady and they said that was the cause. Not saying you are over weight as I don`t know you.
She has lost a tremendous amount of weight since having it done and being more mobile.
Just close your eye`s to the dust and jobs around you at the moment.Maybe when friends visit, and usualy they ask if they can do anything,we are to shy to say yes could you run the vacuum round or just move the dust about please.
When I had a spinal op I swallowed my pride and asked for this kind of help and found friend only too willing to help(which gave me hope about our fellow man).I had always when visiting friends with new babies, visited with a caserole in hand and without asking,so they couldn`t decline, got the ironing board out and cooed at baby from a distance.
It was good training living in South Africa for a time as ,they are so like the Yanks and canadians in this respect.
So if you have a steady flow of visitors, say "yes please"and if they don`t come back, they were not woth knowing in the first place.
Love and Hugs Butterly and wishing you a speedy as possible recovery.
Hiya Sue, at least you have had the op done and even though it is slow you are making progress, just remember, small steps.
I havn't had an op and was sat her earlier today looking at the dust on my TV table. It used to bother me but now I turn a blind eye to it, I will do it soon on a day I feel like doing it!!. I have a fridge magnet which says "you can look at the dust but please dont write in it". If anyone were to ever mention my dust I would ask them if it bothers them and if so perhaps they would like to remove it for me!!.
Keep your chin up Sue, you won't be like this for ever, take care, Love Angela xx
Hi sue I know how you feel I had knee op three weeks ago. And I know how u feel I suffer badly with my legs. But I am getting there slowly the dust is still there but if I attempt to clean the pain is bad but I keep on fighting. Hoping to get back to work soon but that's another battle for another day. See everyday is a battle and its so worth it xx gentle hugs angela
Hi Sue I am new here on the sight and have not even written a blog yet because I have not got to grips with the protocol here but I did ask a question this morning. I asked if anyone else had been in the position of having a full hip replacement whilst having Fibro. A lovely lady picked up the question and pointed me towards you so having said that I hope you don't mind me looking you up. I was diagnosed with fibro between 6 and 7 years ago and have had it pretty bad with all the usual problems that come along with it. I also am a diabetic and asthmatic but both are well under control. I have two collapsed hips that have got in this state because I became so disabled by my fibro and the onset of the OA in the hips that I became more and more sedentary and piled on the weight. So I have had a battle to lose 5 stone to get me to a more manageable weight for surgery. I am still bigger than he would have liked me to be but I have come to a standstill with my weightloss and have been for over 6months so he has agreed to operate now. I am due to have the right hip done probably sometime the month of June because I am going for a pre op assessment on 1st June and then going in on the 6th June to see the surgeon on consent meeting, I have been really worried about it because of knowing that I cannot even take one step without holding onto a wheeled walker at the moment and that is progress because until the end of last year I was in a wheelchair and had been for the last 2 and a half years. With losing weight it took some of the pressure off the hips and I think that has helped me to be able to weight bear and do walks of short distances indoors. I have been trying to do it as much as possible to build back up my leg and back muscles because I also have really bad back ache and have recently started having continual aching in my shoulder and top of my arm, I sound like a right moaning and winging mare lol. My worry was whether the fibro affects the ability to quickly get back onto the leg and with the other leg being bad anyway how I am going to cope. I notice you have suffered bad with water retention and swelling and am wondering how that has improved since you last blogged. If you can give me any advice I would be most grateful. If you don't feel well enough to answer I will fully understand so please don't feel that you must reply. Hope you are now much much better and all has gone down and your are not in any pain now. Hugs. Sue (suzyindahouse)
hi there sorry only just read your reply as been a bit busy last two days.
Lovely to hear from you and i would love to keep in touch and share our experiences well I am now 6 wks post op on my 2 hip had the 1st one 3 yrs ago, you asked about swelling It is more under control now thanks to frussamide tabs. I go for my check up tomorrow fingers crossed all ok i feel much better but like to see x-rays to prove its all in the right place etc and leg bone growing to leg pin, thats me need the confirmation..LOL Reading your reply far from thinking you are a winging mare i thought how similar i sound to you with the shoulder, back and hip probs I was diagnosed in 1993 with FM but like you i also have OA all over except hips now as both done, The op takes away all of the arthritis pain but for me the FM Flared I went back to work 4 mths after 1st op this with hind sight was too soon as i think that contributed to the swelling which has never really cleared fully,I haven't got that worry this time as I was retired through ill health last year, however on the new one just done the ankle is smaller than on 3yr old one but all round I feel this time has gone better with recovery well so far anyway, fingers crossed. Every op is different even from leg to leg and we all respond differently, one thing i did do is wait 3yrs in between
Sorry sue pressed the wrong button I was about to say I wish i hadn't waited that long as i put strain on the hip he had already done because like you both were as bad as each other. So be brave and don't be as chicken as me LOL .. Well my love i will stop now as in bed and laptop on my legs getting a bit heavy but do keep in touch if you would like use the via message button which comes to my inbox more personal perhaps than just blogging, as i would like to know how you are going and i'm sure you have a few questions which i will do my best to answer if i can.. Hugs sue x
