would like to know if i can claim anything
Hi cubby,
you dont say anything about your cercumstances, whether on benefits or working.
There are benefits out there, although it can be a bit of a fight to get them, The CAB or would be able to help as well as other members of this group if you felt you can share just a few details,
Hugs poppyxx
yes sorry i should have given more details. this all new to me. i dont work and am carer to my husband of 20 years. He`s on benefits and i`m still bringing up 2 kids. Often thought what was wrong now i know. also think i have tmj. would explain a lot. seeing doctor next week. i live in the middle of nowhere and its hard to get anywhere. will take some advice from my husbands DLA advisor. will let u know how i get on. thank u for the hug xxx
are you at work or off sick ? xx
You can claim DLA if according to how your fibro and any other conditions affects you on a daily basis. Much more detail needed though xx
HI Cubby, as poppy has said it depends on your circumstances
So if you could give us more information.
Sadly i've been advised by my G/P that now with the changes the present government have put in place the chances of getting any disability benefits are slim as there is not enough support or understanding about Fibromyalgia,it isn't deemed a real or serious enough illness!!! Thankfully, however this isn't the opinion of my G/P,i am about to return to work next week after been signed off for 5x weeks,i can't afford to live on Statutory sick pay!! Yet i was signed off due to exhaustion! I wish you well in your quest for information etc xxx
Go to the CAB or Welfare Rights and talk it over with them.
Basically you have to be able to prove that you have mobility and care needs.
I was turned down at first attempt, but had the decision overturned without having to go to tribunal - but I did have a really good Welfare Rights advisor.
Many are turned down at first attempt - so you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get what you are entitled to.
Personally, I would go and apply as soon as possible before they change over to PIP.
