Hi electricjaws

I am on deloxetine and have been for yrs,

I am not sure about gaining weight hard to tell on me as I am very overweight anyway

As for side effects I felt sick in the morning but that worn off after about a week. I have problems with constipation but I think that is because I have lisions attached to my bowel and I was on alot of condeine.

I think everyone is different but I feel most of the side effects you get when you first start it wear off after a little while.

This is only my experience

They have helped me so much

not sure if that has helped

gentle hugs

I started 60mg of Duloxetine last Tuesday.I felt really ill and only took them for 2 days.I have had a terrible stomach ever since.Stomach cramps, nausea etc.

I'm not certain if I have had a bug or it was the meds but haven't felt so rough in ages.

My doctor has left me a new prescription for 30mg and to build up to 60mg-really don't know if I'm going to take them at the moment, stomach still not right.

I was given them about5 weeks ago and have felt soo sick since i started them. I have hardly eaten in that time and have only lost about 3 pounds ggrrrr. Think i should have lost lots more. My anxiety levels are sky high just now, i had been on Mertazapine for years and they helped with that but had stoped working for my depression. I dont think the duloxitine are really helping with my depression yet. Fingers crossed they will soon. I also take tramadol, gabapentin, thyroxin, paracetamol and ibuprofen. Some people think fibro doesnt exist......i wish. Gentle hugs xx

I was put on 60 mg of Duloxetine 3 months ago by my Dr?pain specialist, I'm also on Gabapentin, Thyroxin, Amitriptolyne, Asacol, Aciclovor, and HRT ! My weight has gained by several pounds despite eating less than before. Only other side effects as such is I can't get up in the morning but I think that might just be the Fibro ! Keep positive Bright Blessings x

I only managed to take one 60mg tab. After about 2 hours I was really ill. Couldn't even see the car let alone drive it !!! Had no idea where my legs were and couldn't wee. My face was frozen and I couldn't eat or talk properly. Scared the heck out of me - that was on only one tab. I've not taken any more and GP advised me not to continue them. Probably doesn't help you though. Hope it works for you. xx

Hi, I've been on Duloxetine for about 2 years now and I find it is a miracle worker. But is not to say you will. As you can see from the comments above. Every medication affects different people in various ways.

As for the constipation, if you immobile or do not drink enough water [I drink 2 litres of water a day] you can become constipated.

Hello

I have been on duloxetine for about 2 years as well, I think

it works but I dont know what I would be like now without

it, its is used a lot for diabetic people as they get a lot of pain

as well

You have to be very careful as a lot of things interact with

duloxetine things that you would not think does like cold

medication and alka seltzer, and amertrip but then I suppose

the doctors know what they are doing ??

type in google interaction with duloxetine.

it does cause constipation but that might be

with conjuction with other medication, as for

weight gain, it says weight loss but then every one is differient

stick with it as its the drug that is recommeded for fibro so it

must do us some good.

I certainly wasn't constipated on it!

It just made me feel spaced out and amitriptyline suits me better.
