Housebound 4 almost a year, desperate for diabetic eye check (terrified of permanent eye damage) does anybody know how to access a service to do this? G.P unable to help, usual community opticians unable to help. HELP!

Hi there....If you ring your local optician shops they will be able to tell you if they can do a domiciliary visit. Alternatively ring your local Primary Care Trust - your doctor's surgery will be able to give you their number.
Would you be able to actually go to an opticians with transport though or is that an impossibility? If you can get out of your home with transport it's possible that your doctor's surgery could arrange this for you or you may have a system in your area where drivers volunteer to drive you to appointments.

i have just been diagnosed with diabetes i am waiting to go for eye check,my nurse at GPS is sorting it for me,hope u get sorted x
