Hi there, i really enjoy reading posts but lately it has gotten hard so i havent much. Seeing Ken has needed to retire has me a little sad. I wish it were for different reasons and he was out enjoying instead. Bluemermaid and Janet i am familiar with and know we are in the best of hands.

The print is making my eyes blurry. A recent eye exam says i should be able to read it fine. My reading glasses are not much help.i have had Fibro, RA and other immune related problems a long time, so i really am not sure if there is anything to help it. Is there a way to enlarge it myself? I am able to in most other places i visit not sure why i am unable to here? Please know i make mistakes spelling with these eyes, i try to proofread and correct but it gets frustrating.

Hoping everyone is doing ok today.

Julie

Hi Julie

It is never easy when someone who has been supportive through thick and thin is no longer in a position to be so especially due to ill health of their own.

Change can be hard to adapt to but it is inevitable sometimes.

I guess in time we will adapt. It must have been a very difficult decision for Ken to make but when his eyes were so painful etc what else could he do.

I intend to support this forum and the admin and volunteers for they must feel sad too and they deserve our support.

Without this forum where would we be?

The admin and volunteers are very knowledgeable and helpful and I hope the afore mentioned do not mind my saying so but tbh they must feel lost at first without Ken just as much as we do.

I speak from experience of stepping into someone else's shoes in a completely different setting and it is no easy task.

YOUR VISION.

I trained as an Occupational Health Nurse and would do vision tests on employees who were classified as computer users. I checked their middle distance vision as well as near and distant vision.

If you ask your optician to check you for working/using a computer then e or she can prescribe different lenses perhaps varifocals.

Take care.

Hello avocadopeardrops

Yes of course we miss Ken but he needed to go due to his health.

We can only try our best my friend!

Hope you're doing ok today.

You can use the zoom function to enlarge the words. Depending on what device you are using you may have a magnifying glass or 3 vertical dots in top right corner of screen. If you click on this you should be able to enlarge screen. Or using a keyboard, if you press Ctrl and + buttons it will also zoom in and Ctrl and - button (the one between 0 and +) to zoom out.

Hope this helps hun x

Hi jewel8888

If you are using a laptop with an inbuilt mouse you can put your hands over the mouse and press down and out and it will also magnify your screen.

Do the opposite to make it smaller.

You may be able to change your font size in general if you are on a tablet. You will find this in "settings."

Do you think it would be worth having a second opinion as you are having trouble seeing?

I hope this helps.

I didn't know that so thanks Lu! XXX

Did it work for you?

You need to use both hands and gentle pull outwards to increase the page size.

It's hard to describe what to do!!

Well (laugh if you want to lol). I've been doing it accidentally but didn't know how! My fingers stray, numbness, now I know! XXX :)

Lol! Laughing is good for the soul! If you want to reverse it, do the opposite, so:

Both hands on the inbuilt mouse and push gently inwards.

Hope it helped?

I chNged to Chrome and was able to increase the scaling. I use my android phone, and Google did not give site setting options. This has mafe it so i will not have to adjust it too. I will be going to my rheumatologist next month and will let him know. The eue Dr. Said i am not on the meds that need monitored for vision but maybe he has another suggestion. They get blurry, so i will keep after it. I appreciate everyones help.

Wonder if related to 'Dry Eye' which I find causes blurring, sometimes gritty and/or itchy. Very uncomfortable and a def. nuisance at times! I also find it restricts screen time, and worse when tired or the end of the day. I gather this can also go along with FM so yes I would advise mentioning it to your Consultant. All the best. :) xx

I believe you hit my problem., dry eye. I really didnt understand what the eye doctor had said until now. Do many people with FM also get Sjogrens? My mother saw how much it is affecting me when we were at the store together. I better take more breaks.

Yes it is. You need to take care, and I do think you should talk about it all when you see your Consultant. Let us know how it goes. xx
