Can anyone help.

Since this horrible condition has got hold of me over the yrs, I have recently noticed my muscle tone is rapidly dissapearing.

My calfs just sag, my arms just seem to hang. I'm 54 and I know most women get the dreaded 'bat wings', but its the whole of my arm.

I have always been very active and I still try to walk as much as I can. I lift my two smaller grand children on a very regular basis(probably too much)

Wait for it!!!!!!!!! the gp I saw today said, I bet most of you know what's coming nxt.

Yep, Get More Exercise. So very quietly and politely I told him I did more than enough with this imaginary illness I have.

Plz does anyone else have the real saggy flesh problem :( xx :) Susan x

Hi Susan, Hugz.

Yeah I sympathise, my arms and thighs are on the sag, Im on mt feet all day at work and always have been working as a Restaurant/Kitchen Manager untill recently and losing weight just makes the problem worse, that and more exersize are the standard answeres. Feels like a never ending circle.

:-)

Hi, sorry to hear that you have sagging skin. The only comment I can make is that I have noticed muscle wastage from not being as active. I am sure it does come down to exercise, but then it comes to pacing and managing pain which is difficult.

Do you belong to a gym? They have those power plates which are really good to tone muscles....you could try them as there are lots of exercises you can do.xx

hi yes iam 46 and have lost alot of strenghth in my arms and egs and i am only little bout 7 half stoneso not got any spare flesh to hang arounfd or i def would have it hanging down i know i would live to you diddle x

Me too! I find that swimming is a great help - it totally supports your whole body and you are getting a gentle work out at the same time - and if you have problems with paying for a session, some gp practices can actually refer you so you don't have to pay... worth looking into! xx

YEP - bingo wings, stomach pointing South, mostly down to the fact that I lost 2.5 stones last summer, and the only thing (apart from a few nip/tucks) to improve it is as you said EXERCISE!!!

Going up and downstairs is like a route march for me, I do go swimming if I am feeling up to it, but not nearly enough as I should.

I dont think its as simple as that, this illness leaves us feeling that exhausted that its a struggle on its own to get the energy and motivation to do even light exercise, on the days I do feel well enough to do anything I use my energy to clean my house otherwise it would become a s**t tip.

By time I've finished I dont have the energy to do exercise, its easy for doctors to say you need more exercise, I know I need more exercise but finding the energy and motivation is the hard part.

I used to be a member of a women only gym, I loved it, I went 4 times a week for 7 years but I had to cut it down to twice a week because the pain I suffered and exhaustion was just too much, as my health got worse, I eventually had to give up the gym all together because every workout put me in bed for 3 days.

We all suffer differently some people can work and lead pretty much normal lives like I did for 20 years, I knew there was something wrong with me but just got on with it as the pain and tiredness wasn't as bad then but as I've become older the pain has increased, the fatigue is horrendous and its just too difficult now.

I'm 41 now and at 34 I was a size 10 with muscles in my stomache, legs, and arms, now its just wasting away, I dont have saggy skin yet but it'll come eventually as my muscles waste away from being inactive.

Its like the spoon theory, I can do the housework or exercise but I cant do both or all my spoons are used up and some days I can't do any at all.

Loving this sunshine :)

Same here Irene. Had to give up the gym because is was just throwing money away as I could only attend about twice per week and was knackered for the rest of the time.

It's like us Brits with sunshine - we go all out to get a tan because we know the sun wont last long so when we have a "good" day we go all out to get as much done as possible because we dont know how long it will last.
